Rodarte's Costumes for L.A. Philharmonic

Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte are making their mark on costume design once again. Their ethereal aesthetic brought the movie Black Swan to life, with their signature use of textures capturing the essence of the tragic beauty of the ballet.
Despite being snubbed by the Oscars, the costumes received such critical acclaim that they were exhibited at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art last year.
Now, just this past May, the designer sisters debuted six costumes for the Los Angeles Philharmonic's production of Don Giovanni. The costumes included headpieces, gowns, and wigs for the characters Donna Elvira, Zerlina, and Donna Anna and contained over 130,000 Swarovski crystals. Watch the stunning sketches come to life.
